"It was hard work" - Twins pass with 24 distinctions

The Botes twins from Helpmekaar Kollege in Johannesburg are celebrating no less than 24 distinctions. Christiaan obtained 14 distinctions and Carla obtained 10 distinctions.
The Independent Examination Board (IEB) released its exam results on Tuesday.
Pupils who wrote the IEB exams achieved an overall pass rate of 98.39%.

The Botes twins from Helpmekaar Kollege made history after Christiaan obtained 14 distinctions - including in Accounting, Economics, English and Business Studies, while Carla obtained 10 distinctions - including in IT, Account Information and English.
The twins visited the Scenic Drive with Rian to talk about their incredible results and their future ahead.
"I have always worked hard, Carla said. "He started to work harder later," she continued.
Christiaan said he is incredibly happy with the results.
"I worked hard. I studied late at night and it worked for me," Christiaan said.

His advice to the new matric group of 2022 is to plan.
"Work hard and work out old matric papers."
He is going to study Mechatronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University.

Carla said she is equally excited about her results.
“It was a lot of hard work. It didn’t come naturally but through a lot of hard work, a lot of time and effort I was able to pull it off. I was hoping for it but I didn’t expect it.”
Carla's advice is to work hard.
Carla believes that they must work hard, believe in themselves and stay positive.
