Kanyi Nokwe and Jacques Terreblanche put a spin on some Christmas classics
Updated | By Nkhensani Manabe
Singer and stage actress Kanyi Nokwe and musician Jacques Terreblanche stopped by the Scenic Drive to show Rian and the team what they could do with a few classic Christmas songs.
It's Christmas time, and anyone who has set foot inside a mall this month knows what that means: old Christmas carols played on a loop through the speakers in every single shop.
It's enough to drive anyone crazy.
But what if there was a way to spice up those old Boney M carols, and bring them into the modern era?
Rian challenged Kanyi Nokwe and Jacques Terreblanche to do just that, and the results were phenomenal. Here they are with their a capella rendition of "White Christmas":
The singing talent in South Africa is truly phenomenal!
Kanyi is a recording artist and actress who hails from KwaLanga in the Eastern Cape. She graduated from the National School of the Arts, and is a classically trained singer. Earlier in 2017, Kanyi played the role of a young Sophiatown diva in the Thandi Klaasen tribute show, Divas of Kofifi
The pint-sized personality is currently starring as Pinocchio in the Janice Honeyman pantomime at the Joburg Theatre until 30 December 2017.
Jacques Terreblanche is a singer and songwriter who first came into the public eye during season two of Idols South Africa.
Jacques owns and runs a productions studio in Johannesburg North, JT Productions.
If you are wondering if Jacques would ever record a Christmas album, you may be pleased to hear that he has put some thought into it. Jacques says that if he were to produce a Christmas album, it would have a "swing-y, Michael Bublé vibe".
