The 'Kleinboer': One of the last Afrikaans-speaking people in Yeoville

The 'Kleinboer' opened up to Rian about having relations with only nine white women and a few hundred black women: "Once you go black, you can't go back."
Born in Boksburg in 1956, Fanie De Villers (not the cricketer) is a twin that enjoyed growing up in South Africa. At the age of 27, he went overseas and returned to South Africa as the sub-editor of a magazine.
He then devoted himself to writing on a full-time basis and went through a number of life challenges. He is a member of the Afrikaans branch of the international PEN writer's circle.
His life hasn't been easy sailing, though. He is currently in his third marriage and says that in the 80's he preferred to be on a dance floor in a black club than in a white club.
In his many years of living in Yeoville, he has only had his car broken into once and says that he has never been a victim of personal crime.
Today on the show, he spoke to Rian about his life and how he overcame his hardships:
