LISTEN: Radio veteran Aki Anastasiou looks back at 30 years on air

Former 702 presenter Aki Anastasiou joined the Scenic Drive to talk about his successful career in the radio industry, as well as some of his favourite moments.
After 30 years in the radio industry, 702 has bid farewell to veteran broadcaster Aki Anastasiou.
On the 25th of August, Anastasiou shared the following news on his Twitter page: "Today marks my very last day on Radio 702. What a morning it's been. What a ride it's been. Thank you for the love."

On Monday, Anastasiou joined the Scenic Drive to talk about his illustrious career as a radio presenter.
Moments at 702
"I started at a very young age at 702. It's also been my passion.
"In 2020, companies went through a few retrenchments. It wasn't pleasant, however, I love change.
"Change brings out the best in human beings. I will definitely miss my time there but I'm ready for something new."
What will you miss about radio?
"I'll miss the interaction the miss. Radio is part of my DNA. It will always be part of me.
"It's been an honour to serve listeners but I'm going nowhere - I still have a lot to give."
Future of South Africa
"Our politicians aren't helping at the moment - but there will come a turnaround. South Africa and its people are beautiful."
