South Africa's 400-meter Olympic gold champion, Wayde van Niekerk, has a brand new title.

He is now a dad!
He has announced the birth of his firstborn boy, Elijah Luca van Niekerk.
Van Niekerk posted two photos of him with Elijah, one with his hand on his son’s head and another where he was holding his hand, with the words: “Elijah Luca van Niekerk 24/11/2021”

Van Niekerk thanked friends, family, and fans for their well wishes: “Thank you for all your messages. We are truly blessed and thankful.”
