Make My Monday: Scenic Drive surprises listener born on February 29th
Updated | By Scenic Drive With Rian
The Scenic Drive surprised a listener who will turn 48, but who is actually only 12 due to being a leap year baby.
The Scenic Drive team received a message from Sonette Jardine from Brakpan who wants to celebrate her 'leap year baby' husband.
HERE'S HER MESSAGE:
My hubby is a leap year baby born on the 29th of February 1972. This year he is turning 48 (aka 12). He is so special, he has turned 12 twice in his life.
In June 2017, my husband was retrenched and on his last day at work, he had a heart attack. In December 2017, he broke his back.
My first six months of 2018, I was helping my husband to recover but, unfortunately, I was dismissed from my job.
Luckily, I found a job in March 2019, however, we were placed under debt review in June. So, financially, were are just making it through every month.
Four years ago, when it was a leap year, I promised myself the next one will do something special for my hubby like a fancy hotel or a weekend away somewhere in a bush tent. But, there is no money.
I would love it if you guys can just play my song for him and a little meal somewhere just to celebrate his special day would be AWESOME. If you can play simply 'The Best' by Tina Turner.'
I know it has been done over and over but this is the song that played 21 years ago when we entered the hall at our wedding reception.
WHAT IS HE GETTING:
- A packet of marbles
- Skateboard
- A watch
- Carnival City: Prestige movie tickets, R500 dinner voucher, and one-night accommodation in the Carnival City Hotel.
The total value of all the gifts is worth R4,000.
