This man believes working in the first week of January is unconstitutional
Updated | By Nkhensani Manabe
If you hated waking up early to go back to work this morning, this video is proof that you are not alone.
This is the bad news: the festive season is over, and you have no more leave days, so you have to go back to work this week.
It's back to reality, and there is nothing that anyone can do about it.
But what if that is not entirely true?
In the eyes of the frustrated South African citizen in the video below, the best way to ensure that everyone eases into the working year with minimal pain is for the government to declare the first week of January "free".
This will give citizens time to recover from the activities of the festive season.

This "free week" is the one resolution that the ANC did not prioritise at Nasrec in December, and that is very disappointing indeed. Listen to the rest of this concerned citizen's plea:
Not only is it difficult to wake up the morning after the popular marathon prayer nights that many churches host on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, but it is also extremely unreasonable for bosses to expect employees to still have money for petrol after all the holiday festivities!

According to this man's petition speech, all employers who insist on calling staff into the office in the first days of January should pay them the equivalent of an end-of-year bonus. It is only right.
Do you support this man's petition for a free week in January?
