Aja Brown is the youngest mayor that the city of Compton, California has ever had.
Aja Brown, a Policy, Planning and Development graduate from the University of Southern California, is currently serving her second term as the Mayor of Compton.
There would be nothing out of the ordinary about Aja's election to that office if she were not as young as she is. At the age of 35, Aja is the youngest mayor that the city of Compton has ever had.

Aja first ran for mayor in 2012, when she felt it was time to step up and implement her new vision for the city. Since her time in office, she has implemented a unique strategy that she believes will create a healthy, striving city out of Compton.
During her time as the mayor, Aja has also chosen to use peace negotiations instead of heavy policing to address the gang violence problem in the city, with great results.
Aja is positive proof that a younger candidate can sometimes be the best thing that a city needs to turn it around.
