Meet uMngeni mayor-elect Chris Pappas

Rian chatted to uMngeni mayor-elect Chris Pappas - the man who captured the hearts of thousands.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) won control of its first local municipality, uMngeni, in KwaZulu-Natal during the 2021 Local Municipality Elections.

Chris Pappas, 30, was elected as mayor while Sandile Mnikathi, 26, took the deputy mayor position.
Pappas is not only one of the youngest mayors, but is also fluent in isiZulu and has won the hearts of thousands.

In previous interviews, Pappas mentioned that the lady who looked after him while he was growing up was isiZulu and she was like his mother.
Pappas sat down with Rian van Heerden for a candid interview.
