The Sisters of the Valley is an order of new-age progressive nuns who grow cannabis to make medicine.
The medicinal properties of various plants in nature are well-documented.
You will not be surprised to find that the cure to most of your ailments is to be found in nature. But somehow when it comes to cannabis, the medical community is reluctant to declare outright that the green-leafed plant can be beneficial to one's health.
In California, where both medical and recreational marijuana is legal to use, there exists a group of women living at the interesting intersection of religion and recreational drug use.

The Sisters of the Valley describe themselves as a "new-age order of nuns not affiliated to the Catholic church". The nuns grow weed and then use it to produce various medicines that are used to care for terminally ill patients.
The self-proclaimed "weed nuns" show respect to the medicine-making progress, but they must surely take a few of the plants for themselves on 4/20...?
