New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced that the nation will be under strict lockdown after one new case of the COVID-19 was reported.

This is the country's first COVID-19 case in six months.
New Zealand will be in lockdown for three days from Wednesday. Schools, offices, and all businesses will be shut down and only essential services will be operational.

New Zealand has allowed people to live without restrictions although its international borders remain largely closed.
The country has reported about 2,500 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 26 related deaths.
