The NSRI successfully disentangles southern right whale
Updated | By Lethu Ndimande
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) saved a whale that was trapped in a rope off the coast of Clovelly in Cape Town.

According to News24, the NSRI team responded immediately to reports of a large southern right whale entangled in a rope that was wrapped around its tail.
The team managed to free it by using the South African Whale Disentanglement Network cutting equipment, which lead to a successful rescue of the whale. After establishing that it was in good condition, the whale was released into the sea.
Darren Zimmerman, who is Simon's Town's NSRI station commander, told News24 that this was the second whale that they have rescued in three days.
