Oscar winner Halle Berry reaches icon status

Halle Berry, one of the first Black female Oscar winners and former runner-up at Miss USA, will receive The People's Icon Award.
Halle Berry, 55, is one of the world's most well-known actresses and won an Oscar for her role in 'Monster's Ball' in 2001.

Berry won the award for Best Actress, becoming the first Black woman to have won the award.
Berry has officially now reached icon status as she's set to receive The People's Icon Award at this year's People's Choice Award.

Berry also earned an Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG Awards, and an NAACP Image Award for her portrayal of 'Dorothy Dandridge' in HBO’s 'Introducing Dorothy Dandridge', a film she also produced.
The 2021 People’s Choice Awards will be held on 7 December where the actress, producer, and director will be honoured with the legendary award.
Rapper Cardi B will present the award to the actress.
