Philicity Reeken launches The Phil's Source Festival

The festival aims to provide a space to showcase uniquely crafted goods, allow people to appreciate the skills within their community, and recognize artists in our midst.
The Phil's Source Festival is a concept born out of innovation, inspiration, drive, and passion.
These are trying times. We were told to stay home, stay safe, hunker down. We did as we were told and we realised the benefits. But, in the process, a lot of us took life-changing knocks. Businesses closed, jobs were lost, previously viable livelihoods disappeared.

But people are resilient, we have seen and read wonderful stories about individuals that have adapted to the change in circumstances. Adversity has resulted in hobbies and part-time pursuits, being utilised to put food on the table. But it's not easy, once you have tapped into the friends and family market what next?
This is where the Phil's Source Festival comes in.
The festival aims to provide a space to showcase uniquely crafted goods, allow people to appreciate the skills within their community, and recognize artists in our midst - a sector that really suffered during the worst of lockdown. Not being able to perform, they turned their talents to making and creating.

This is the beginning, this is the 1st festival.
On Saturday, 1 May, at 12:00, the doors will open in a beautiful old, refurbished Melville establishment, chiesa di PAZZO LUPi (34 4th ave, Melville), and will end at 19:00.
What can visitors expect from the market?
Homemade sauces and jewelry, variety of food and coffee, proudly South African gin, entertainment for children, and a live band.
The Phil's Source Festival aims to be a monthly event that takes place firstly in Johannesburg and Pretoria and then travels the country providing work for venues, artists, neighbourhoods, and the people who live there.
