PICTURES: Heavy snow hits Ceres in the Western Cape

Parts of the Western Cape are experiencing heavy rain and even snow.
It is not often that South Africans get to see, touch, feel or experience snowy sights. So when some snow falls, people tend to rush off to see it.
Parts of the Western Cape are experiencing an intense cold front, which has brought strong gale-force winds, heavy rain, very cold conditions, and rough seas.

On Monday, the South African Weather Services advised The City of Cape Town's Disaster Management Centre of the intense cold front.
⚠️Intense cold front expected to affect parts of SA from Wednesday (10 June 2020) onward. Good rainfall expected in the western parts of the Western Cape (more than 50mm in some areas). On Thursday, the Scenic Drive received the most beautiful pictures of the snow on the Laastedrif farm in Ceres from Marzanne Schoeman, who is a Food Writer for SARIE.
Ceres is a town in the Western Cape which is known for its heavy snowfall every year. On Thursday morning, the town was covered in snow - and the pictures are so beautiful.
