Podcasts are currently becoming more popular around the world.
In 2020, Prince Harry, and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle signed a deal with Spotify to produce podcasts that tell "uplifting and entertaining stories".

So, if royals are investing and taking part in podcasts, you know it is a big deal.
But what does the podcast space look like in South Africa?
Content and podcast strategist, Jon Savage, packed the podcast industry of the country.

Savage believes that podcasts have become popular over the last year, however, there is still room for growth, especially in South Africa.
Savage also believes that MacG is the "podfather" in South Africa.
"MacG's podcast is starting to see a million people an episode, which is insane."
