Pravin Gordhan says the ANC is still important to him
Updated | By Lethu Ndimande
Former Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan joined us on #ScenicDrive today.
Mr Gordhan held the position of Finance Minister until earlier this year, when he was replaced by Malusi Gigaba in a Cabinet reshuffle on 30th March 2017.
In the interview, he mentioned that he is still a member of parliament, even though he only gets paid half of what he use to earn when he was a Minister.
He also mentioned that he saw his removal coming since 2016 because he was not agreeing with some of President Jacob Zuma's decisions at the time. He said that about over R200 billion of tax payers money has disappeared between 2008 and now.
This was one of the most intensive interviews we have had on the show so far.
