Soli Philander weighs in on the cursing on Cape Town beaches
Updated | By Scenic Drive With Rian
The City of Cape Town has proposed a by-law to fine beachgoers found cursing in a bid to curb unruly behaviour in public areas. Soli Philander weighed in with a touch of humour.
On Wednesday, the legendary Soli Philander joined Rian van Heerden on the Scenic Drive and he weighed in on the conversation about the new law on Cape Town beaches.
The law will be aimed at providing measures for protecting coastal zones and managing public access, as well as social behaviour on beaches.
Beachgoers will be liable to a fine if they threaten, obstruct, hinder or use abusive language.

Soli Philander, who is from Cape Town, said that it is extremely difficult to not swear when you go to the beaches.
"The water is so cold - you must swear!"
"Also, there is constantly men selling stuff to you and then you just have to swear at them so that they can leave you alone."
