South Africa’s first black female brewer makes beer in Europe!

The alcohol bans may have shut down South Africa's first black woman brewer for a period of time, but it did not stop Apiwe Nxusani-Mawela from pursuing her dream. She now makes her own beer in Europe!
When the liquor bans were introduced in South Africa during the COVID-19 lockdown, Apiwe Nxusani-Mawela was forced to close her brewery.

But she knew that it was not the end for her and her brewery.
Nxusani-Mawela now makes her own beer in Europe, which is distributed in the United Kingdom.

Nxusani-Mawela received a LinkedIn invitation from the chief marketing officer of subscription service Beer52, headquartered in Edinburgh.
Beer52 is a club that introduces beer drinkers across the UK to new beers from around the globe. This month, part of its subscription includes 200,000 cans of Tolokazi, which will reach 100,000 subscribers in the UK.

She is also focusing on growing the Tolokazi brand
Nxusani-Mawela visited the Scenic Drive team and surprised the team with some cold beers.
