Who is the funniest comedian in South Africa? Well, social media thinks Mashabela Galane from Limpopo is.
If you ask who one of the most famous and funniest comedians in the world is, a lot of people would say Trevor Noah.
But if you ask some locals that same question, Mashabela Galane is the answer.

According to social media, SA’s funniest comedian at the moment is Mashabela Galane. He does his comedy exclusively in Sepedi and vernac and is a massive star in his home province of Limpopo.

But what makes Galane so popular in South Africa? The Scenic Drive invited the comedian to the show to find out!
"I started in 2007, in my mother tongue and vernac.
"The problem with the black culture is that we don't go to the theatre, so it was hard for me to get gigs.
"So I shot a DVD, and after that, I started filling up theatre.
"I don't think I'm funnier than me, he just used one of my jokes - so I think I inspired him."
