Tourists banned from mosque after performing 'disrespectful dance'
Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
Two tourists filmed doing a hip-hop dance routine outside a mosque in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia have been banned from entering the premises in future.
Tourists who visit sacred sites are often asked to behave in a manner that shows respect. Whether it is a church, a temple, a mosque or an historically relevant public place of worship, there is a way to enjoy the beauty of a site while honouring it at the same time.
This makes a recent incident involving two young women touring the Kota Kinabalu region of Malaysia all the more disturbing. If they had been made aware of the proper way to behave when visiting a mosque, why would they have continued to perform a choreographed hip-hop dance in front of the sacred building?

The two unidentified women are seen standing on a wall outside the mosque and dancing while people nearby film the incident. Reports state that "local Muslim groups were incensed by the risque moves outside the holy site".
Tourism authorities in the area have banned tour groups from visiting the mosques in order to "preserve the sanctity of Islam".
No legal action will be taken against the two women once they are identified.
