The challenge started to trend on Twitter, and it caused quite a stir.
The Amapiano song, 'John Vuli Gate' by Mapara A Jazz, Ntosh Gaz & Colano, made South Africans do their best rendition of the challenge with participants shaking their hips and bums.
The challenge went viral after a group of girlfriends danced to the song at a petrol station. After their debut, the girls shot to fame and went on national television. Watch the viral moment here.
