A video of an unsuccessful arrest during the looting spree in South Africa has shocked social media users.
Former president Jacob Zuma’s arrest last week sparked protests by pro-Zuma supporters. The protests have now turned into anarchy.

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) says 2,500 soldiers are to be deployed to violence-ridden hotspot areas in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
South Africans have been gripped by harrowing images of burning trucks, looted retail shops, and buildings on fire.

On Monday, police have recalled members who are on leave or deployed anywhere else in the country to reinforce those battling to quell the violence.
Hundreds of rioters have been nabbed.
Some in Gauteng managed to escape after being cuffed after a looting incident.
