South African icon Shaleen Surtie-Richards will be laid to rest in Cape Town.
Veteran television, film and theatre star Shaleen Surtie-Richards has died on Monday in a guesthouse in Cape Town at the age of 66.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has bestowed Surtie-Richards a category 2 special provincial funeral.

Surtie-Richards will be laid to rest at the Durbanville Memorial Park, in Cape Town, on Sunday.
Surtie-Richards finished filming her last scenes as the retired nurse 'Muriel Foster' last week Thursday.
"Shaleen has completed filming her part as 'Muriel Foster' with us on Thursday in good spirits," Tarryn Josephs, 'Arendsvlei' publicist told Jacaranda FM.

"Shaleen tackled her role as 'Muriel' with the same enthusiasm, generosity, and talent that she has tackled all of her roles."
Surtie-Richards is best known for her television roles on shows such as 'Generations', '7de Laan' and 'Egoli', and 'Fiela Komoetie' in the iconic film 'Fiela Se Kind'.
