What is the most exotic food that you have ever eaten?
Updated | By Scenic Drive with Rian
Philicity Reeken from the Scenic Drive with Rian went to Cyrildene in her quest to try out exotic food...
On Derrick Avenue in Cyrildene, Joburg's new Chinatown, you'll find a lifestyle alternative to the hipster neighbourhoods of Maboneng and Braamfontein.
On Friedland Avenue, a spectacular archway marks the beginning of Chinatown and a shift in tone from the neighbouring suburbs' 1950s aristocratic architecture.

The language, architecture, and people are Asian, as is the storefront arrangement, which includes supermarkets, restaurants, tea shops, fish stalls, vegetable market stalls, massage parlours, an acupuncturist, hair salons, and a karaoke club.
There are many locations to eat delicious and reasonably priced Asian food, ranging from Szechuan cuisine to Thai, Taiwanese, Korean, and other Asian cuisine.
Philicity Reeken from the Scenic Drive with Rian went to explore Cyrildene to get a taste of what exotic food is and, of course, she did not go alone. She was accompanied by Angela from Qinhuangdao in China.
Angela has been living in South Africa for the last 22 years - in Johannesburg after living in Ladysmith for a while. She likes cooking and she believes the best food to eat would be Cantonese food like Dim Sum and Roast Duck.
The Scenic Drive team tastes exotic delicacies from China Town in Cyrildene.
