Woman is fined $500 for carrying an apple on a flight
Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
Going through customs at the airport is stressful enough without the added concern of checking which foods you can or cannot take with you.
Crystal Tadlock did not expect to be taken aside at the airport after her Delta Airlines flight from France.
Crystal says she was given an apple by a flight attendant on the Delta trip and put it into her hand luggage without a second thought. When she was going through U.S. customs, Crystal was pulled aside for a random search. She tells Fox 31-TV that the customs agent asked her "if her trip to France had been expensive".

He then informed her that she was going to be fined $500 for carrying the apple off of the flight. While Crystal could not understand why she was being "treated like a criminal" over an apple that the airline had given to her, Delta has said that all food given to its passengers is intended to be consumed onboard.
Due to the contraband apple, Crystal has lost her global entry status.
