The Japanese know how to draw consumers in and convince them that the items being advertised are absolute must-haves. This particular advert takes the viewer through a number of interesting twists and turns.
A good ad is one that stays in the viewer's mind long after it has aired.
The Japanese have got this formula right time and again. This recent clip has all the elements of a great ad.
Can you guess what product is being advertised here?
At different points in the story, it seems like it is an ad about the dangers of workaholism, or even about self-defence. But by the time the man is on a date on a rooftop in the city, it is anyone's guess where this will end.
