Amanda Strydom pays tribute to Thandi Klaasen and Marga van Rooy

Over the weekend the South African entertainment industry lost two incredible legends. Both legendary Jazz singer, Thandi Klaasen and veteren actress, Marga van Rooy passed away.
Both veterans lost their lives to cancer. Veteran Jazz singer, Thandi Klaasen passed away at the age of 86 due to fighting a battle with pancreatic cancer. The singer celebrated a career spanning over 50 years, famous for her role in the musical King Kong.
The singer was also known as Madiba's favourite singer and President Jacob Zuma described Klaasen as one of the pioneers in her field.
Marga van Rooy, known for her roles in Vetkoek Paleis as well as a number of Afrikaans films. The actress passed away following a battle with cancer as well. She will always be remembered for her many roles she entertained us with, most recently in 'n Paw Paw Vir My Darling.
Well-known South African actress, Amanda Strydom, who is known for her singing and as a playwright, was a good friend of both. She spoke to us about both the legacy as well as her memories of the two veterans. Take a listen.
