DA Chief Whip John Steenhuisen on bringing humour to Parliament
Updated | By Tumi Msiza
"Honourable Steenhuisen! Honourable Steenhuisen!" - a call often made by Parliamentary Speaker, Baleka Mbete that is now a regular feature at the National Assembly - is a direct reference to DA Chief Whip John Steenhuisen. Amongst other things, 'Honourable Steenhuisen' is no doubt also known for his sharp sense of humour, which he uses to navigate the often tension-filled and heated debates at House sittings.
The notably humourous Chief Whip of the Democratic Alliance John Steenhuisen says that Parliament is 'fundamentally broken' and that clashes in the National Assembly are symptomatic of a broader problem.
His punchy lines during Parliamentary gatherings have had most of the public in stitches.
Listen to 'Honourable Steenhuisen' share more of his comedic side with Rian during The Complimentary Breakfast.
