Lion sneaking up behind ranger is way too close for comfort
Updated | By Lee-Roy Wright
We're not too sure if we would have remained as calm as this game ranger...
A game ranger in the Kruger National Park got a little more than he expected when a lion was seen resting on a tree right behind him.
The ranger had just arrived at the scene of a pride of lions and their kill when the incident took place. The ranger had been on a game drive with a group of tourists, peacefully parked his vehicle close to a lion kill.
A pride of lions can be seen feeding just meters away from the vehicle when suddenly the camera moves past the ranger to reveal a lioness resting on a branch. Although the lioness looks young and quite at ease watching the tourists, we cannot help but think that the lion could have pounced at any time.
We can't help but think what was going on in the lion's mind at the time. Probably thinking 'they look delicious'. However, this not only makes for amazing footage, but an incredible memory that will never be forgotten.
