Kevin Richardson is an exceptional human being.

The "Lion Whisperer" was thrust into the spotlight when the world was left gobsmacked by his unique techniques and ability used to interact with the big cats - because who would have thought it was possible to break these dangerous animals through traditional TLC?

Richardson has developed some exceptionally personal bonds with his 'students.' As cubs, he dedicates his time to loving the lions, who in turn show him a form of acceptance and respect through their means of soft affection. Richardson's tireless dedication to the predators sees him being able to enter enclosures and be greeted by a giant hug, go swimming with animals, and cuddled should the need for a nap arise - he sees himself as being a part their pride.

In light of the recent lion attack that occurred in Johannesburg, The Complimentary Breakfast talks to Richardson to find out more about his opinion on what happened, touches on the breeding and feeding of lions in captivity and reveals the chilling truth about the reality that awaits the lions on the African continent.

About:

Lions would attack any normal man, but Kevin Richardson has raised Meg and Amy since they were cute cubs. They both rush to greet him and give him a hug, knocking him over with their huge weight, sometimes it seems Meg and Amy still think they are little cubs!

Kevin captures the majority of his footage on GoPro cameras, allowing the viewer to get as close as possible to the lions.

By doing this, Kevin hopes to give people an insight into the lives of these beautiful creatures and to let them see just what they can do to help. You can nearly touch them.
