MalJan: Our Very Own Living Statue
Updated | By The Complimentary Breakfast
It was a morning that our very own MalJan would never forget. What seemed to be a good gesture from Rian, quickly turned into a very uncomfortable, cold and unsettling experience for MalJan. He became a statue, but not just a statue, HE was the statue!
Rian decided over the weekend that he would like to show Maljan his appreciation for everything he does by making a statue of him. Of course, as anyone would, MalJan was elated that he was to be honoured with his very own statue.
Maljan could not believe it and mentioned he would believe it when he saw it. I'm sure now he would love to take back those words, because this is exactly what had happened.
After thinking that he would be the mold for a statue to be made, MalJan soon realized that Rian had another trick up his sleeves. MalJan was to remain in the mold and be transported to the Irene Village Mall for everyone to come and see his work of art.
Maljan has spent his morning in our canteen area being plastered to get a mold made of his body for the casting process of the statue. Here are a few images of MalJan and how become his very own living statue:
MalJan was placed in our canteen area so that the molding process could begin.
The finished product, and so we waited for it to dry...
MalJan was situated in the middle of Irene Village Mall. As you can see, our lovely listeners thought that he needed some colour and a few pennies.
The perfect moment for a selfie!
MalJan was NOT happy AT ALL!
Sigh! At least it made for great fun for those who listened on air this morning and to those who came out to see MalJan.
Thank you to the team at Irene Village Mall as well as the team at Get Plastered for all their amazing work!
Take a listen to what happened on air this morning:
