Micasa's J' Something Surprises Student with Tourette Syndrome
Updated | By Lee-Roy Wright
Have you ever received a call from one of your favourite musicians? Probably not. Well, this is exactly what happened to Radlyn. A student from Pretoria who deals with Tourette Syndrome.
Radlyn is a-19-year old student from Pretoria living with Tourette Syndrome. Radlyn is not afraid to share intimate details about his disorder to educate people, raise awareness and in doing so, help break the stigma around the disorder.
Tourette Syndrome is a neurological disorder and for people with TS they can suffer from brief, repetitive and involuntary body movements and vocal outbursts called tics.
The amazing thing about Radlyn is he has found a way to keep his TS under control. He realized that when he sings there are no signs of the TS at all - and he has a great voice too! On that note, we asked Radlyn if he would share his talent with us and perform one of his favourite songs, Micasa's 'Jika'.
What Radlyn did not know, is that we had a huge surprise up our sleeves for him. We called our friend, J Something from the platinum-selling group, Micasa to comment on Radlyn's rendition of the track.
Thanks so much to Radlyn for joining us. This moment from earlier is still super amazing! @RianVanHeerden pic.twitter.com/XCUzvdPRYT

Radlyn also has a Facebook page called, 'My Life With Tourette Syndrome' that you can 'like' and follow where he shares his experiences and advice on how others living with Tourettes can learn to accept and address the issues it brings.
Thanks for joining us, Radlyn. YOU ROCK!
