Updated | By Bronwyn Hardick
Shocking video of Ugandan nanny Jolly Tumuhirwe, a 22-year-old housemaid who physically tortured two-year-old Aneela has gone viral.
Dad Eric Kamanzi watched the disturbing nanny-cam video after noticing bruises on his daughter's body. The enraged father reportedly assaulted the nanny, but police refused to press charges against him.
Jolly was charged under Section 3 of Uganda's Anti-Torture Act, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in jail on conviction, however the charge will be amended to attempted murder.
If convicted she could face a life sentence.
The nanny who is currently remanded at the Luzira prison, will appear for a second hearing on December 8.
Thankfully, the toddler survived her horrendous ordeal.
UPDATE: The nanny received a sentence of 4 years for violent child abuse
