RWC Challenges: Boks lose to Japan in historic defeat
Updated | By The Complimentary Breakfast
Blue Monday on the horizon for Rian and The Complimentary Breakfast team as they honour their bet and admit defeat to Japan...
On Friday, Japanese Ambassador Shigeyuki Hiroki and Rian had agreed to a wager on behalf of their teams ahead of the Springboks vs Japan match. The agreed terms of the bet: The losing team will see the opposing side reading a short press release glorifying the winning side.
Feeling confident that the Boks would be victorious knowing that Japan had won just one of their previous 24 World Cup games, nobody saw them beating the two-time world champions... And not that it needs to be repeated yet again, but Japan pulled off the biggest upset in Rugby World Cup history to beat our boys in green and gold 34-32 at Brighton Community Stadium.
The game that left our nation shell-shocked has also left one breakfast team having to face the music and honour their bet with Japan... Tune in tomorrow at 7:10 as Rian and The Complimentary Breakfast team execute this difficult challenge!
