The Grade 1 reading book that is angering moms everywhere

Moms everywhere are outraged by this Grade 1 government-issued book.
When sending your children to school you assume that they will receive the best education, free of bias, stereotypes and generalisations.

This doesn't seem to be the case with a book that was recently distributed in some of the South African government schools. Jane Linley-Thomas from our sister station East Coast Radio received an email from a very angry parent.
Her child had received a book that contained themes that she was not comfortable with. The words used painted a very judgmental and old school perspective of the roles that mom and dad play in the home.
