Breastfeeding in public has been a topic of hot debate for years.
The South African government has a history of promoting breastfeeding.
However, in some communities – this very natural thing is considered taboo.

Tuesday 1 August not only marks the beginning of Women’s Month, but also World Breastfeeding Week.
The Late Show polled listeners as well as our colleagues about their views on breastfeeding in public.
Breastfeeding has been proven to boost and strengthen brain development and is a vital part of providing every child with the healthiest start to life.
Statistics show it can save 520 000 children’s lives in the next 10 years.

So why then do some insist that babies be breastfed in a public toilet when they themselves would never consider enjoying a nutritious meal in that very place?
