Jacob Zuma has dropped the mic and exited the building!
In yet another late-night address to the nation, Zuma announced his immediate resignation as president of South Africa.
It’s been a week of waiting for South Africans as the political landscape shifted.
The president resigned after the ANC announced its plan to table a motion of no confidence in President Zuma on Thursday.
The ANC NEC had resolved to recall the president.
Scores of South Africans were kept out of sleep on Wednesday night in anticipation of the announcement.
