Miss SA: It’s about more than just beauty
Updated | By The Late Show
We
all have that one Miss SA winner we remember, not only because of their
striking beauty, but also because of the impact they made.

Anneline
Kriel, Basetsana Kumalo, Rolene Strauss, Liesl Laurie, Amy Kleinhans and
Jo-Ann Strauss, these are the few Miss SA winners that come to mind.
Why? Because they made a difference and spoke about things that matter – well to Carla Mackenzie at least. They're also still making waves in their respective fields.
Over the last few days there’s been much debate about the current structure of the pageant and whether it’s time to restructure it to be more representative.
The Late Show host Carla Mackenzie caught up with Miss SA 2015 Liesl Laurie, following the crowning of Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters last night.
With the whole country watching, media present, Laurie shares what goes through the mind of a Miss SA hopeful moments before the big announcement.
She speaks about how the pageant is about so much more than just being a pretty face and how winning has made a huge difference for her and those she’s been able to impact
Laurie shared words on encouragement to recently-crowned Miss SA, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
