Chickens cause havoc on highway
Why did the chicken cross the road? Well, for these chickens in Austria, it wasn’t “to get to the other side”.
An estimated 7,500 chickens escaped when the truck that was carrying them lost its load on the A1 autobahn close to Linz, Austria.
In an interview with thelocal.at, the police stated that boxes which contained dead and injured birds were retrieved, while the rest of the birds fled into oncoming traffic.
In the video, firefighters are seen taking the chickens which escaped back to the truck.
The road had to be closed, which caused heavy traffic.

The driver of the truck told CNN that he fell asleep and lost control of his vehicle, which collided with a bridge pillar.
