How to tell if a couple is happily in love
Updated | By Boledi Makofane
According to science the best way to tell if a couple is happily in love is by looking at their waistlines. So if you've put on a bit of weight after all those nights spent on the couch cuddling and eating pizza, this just means you and your significant other are happy and likely to stay together.
Research on the National Center for Biotechnology Information found that couples who report satisfaction in their marriage tend to gain weight.
For a period of four years, researchers followed 169 couples on their first marriage. They measured the couples' weight twice a year, and asked questions about their marital life and overall satisfaction.
The results? People in happy marriages gained a significant amount of weight.
Meanwhile, those who remained slim reported rocky marriages that eventually ended in divorce!

Apparently the reason behind this is; happier couples no longer feel the need to attract new people; therefore, there's less stress on appearance. Meanwhile, those in rocky relationships maintain their slim figure in order to attract new mates.
So there we have it, couples who are less focused on their appearance maintain happier relationships. We think this is probably because they watch TV, cuddle and eat. It totally makes sense.
