Alcohol is a beverage of choice for a lot of people looking to have a 'good time'. While some people know their limits when it comes to the intake of alcohol, other people don't.
A recent news report has gone viral of a young who died from alcohol poisoning after downing an entire bottle of Tequila to win a bet he made with his friends.
The 23-year-old was in a nightclub in the Dominican Republic when he was offered 12,531 pesos, the equivalent of around R7, 902 by fellow club-goers to down the bottle, while onlookers filmed him on their phones.
Seconds after finishing the drink, Kelvin Rafael Mejia was given the money while he struggled to stand. He then fainted in the bathroom and later died.
The medical examiner ruled his death was due to alcohol poisoning.
