Being a pedestrian in the rain can be brutal
Updated | By Jacaranda FM/Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
The secret weapon to have in the rain seems to be a brick, not an umbrella.

If you've ever walked in the rain, you know firsthand that some motorists are inconsiderate.
Rain usually creates "puddle land", which doesn't always fare well for motorists and pedestrians.
For pedestrians, it means that they may get splashed with water, and for motorists sometimes it's a pothole posing as a puddle.
Motorists have long been guilty of splashing pedestrians on rainy days, showing little care or consideration when navigating puddle-filled roads.
But these pedestrians have come up with a clever way to make drivers think twice before drenching them.
A few viral videos – both entertaining and hilarious – show pedestrians arming themselves with rocks or bricks, making sure approaching drivers see these makeshift "weapons of mass destruction" before daring to speed through puddles near the sidewalk.
Honestly, while this may have been shared for laughs, it’s neither a safe approach nor an effective way to teach drivers a lesson about their ill-mannered etiquette.
