Bordeaux's 'La Cité du Vin' is a wine-lover's paradise
Updated | By The Workzone with Alex Jay
Bordeaux is one of the world's most famous wine-making cities, and they are living up to their reputation with the creation of La Cité du Vin, a theme park centered on discovering and tasting new wines.
You will not experience wine-tasting the same way once you have been to Bordeaux's La Cité du Vin. Nestled in the heart of the famous French wine-producing region, La Cité du Vin (The City of Wine), offers wine-lovers more than 800 varieties of wine from 70 different countries.
You can book a table at the restaurant while you browse through the list or, if you're more interested in learning about wine than drinking it, you can visit one of 20 wine-themed exhibits. There's something for everyone at La Cité du Vin.
The theme park-cum-museum is designed to immerse visitors in all aspects of wine-making and wine-tasting. Visitors can take a simulated boat ride through a route similar to that travelled by wine merchants centuries ago. Even the building that houses La Cité du Vin envokes the swirling of wine in a glass.
La Cité du Vin is truly an oenophile's dream!
