Criminals work together to distract car owner in JHB
A driver stops on the side of the road in Johannesburg Park station to check her tyres and a thief snatches something from her vehicle.
We've hit the peak of the festive season and that doesn't just mean busy malls and roads but also more criminals who are on high alert and ready to pounce.
One thing that remains constant about criminal behaviour is the element of surprise. Criminals often hit when you least expect it, so you need to be prepared for anything.
A video posted on social media shows how sneaky thieves can be. The footage, captured from the perspective of a driver parked behind the victim's car, shows the moment the crime happened.
This has led many people to believe that the person filming the video may have been an accomplice to the theft.
The video shows a motorist parked on the side of a road somewhere in Johannesburg. After stepping out to check her back tyre, two men approach and distract her by pointing to something underneath her car.
Meanwhile, another man crouches down on the sidewalk, hidden from her view. He opens the passenger-side door and steals something from inside the car.
He then walks away casually, as if nothing happened, while the other two men also walk off.
