Dad offers to buy 'Peppa Pig' for kids at supermarket

You can always trust a father to stir up some confusion and trauma in his kids...

Inappropriate joking and brutal honesty are traits most fathers bring to the table.

It can be considered harsh for some, but for fathers, it's a part of growing up. Can you imagine how dull life might be without a dad who makes fun of everything? Imagine a life without a classic Dad Joke...

We dare not.

One father had a good laugh about exposing his young kids to a Heritage Day find at their supermarket. During Heritage Month, they visited what looked like a SPAR store and came across something that not everyone sees.

In the video, we hear dad while videoing his daughter reluctantly touching the frozen head of a pig wrapped in cling wrap. Dad then tells his daughter, "Ja, ja, ah, you like Peppa Pig, I bring you right to Peppa Pig."

The young girl then retracts her hand and gives a faint smile, sensing her father's humour, while her mother holds her close.

They inspect the pig heads, priced at around R90, and dad starts naming them as per the hit kid's show, 'Peppa Pig'. After naming them all, he continues with his inappropriate joking, saying that Suzi Sheep is further down the line of the fridge.

Perhaps this was a tad bit shocking for the young kids, especially because we doubt they understood why the pig's head was left in the freezer.

It was a culture shock for them nonetheless. It's ironic that even as South Africans, we are still learning about the diverse cultures of our fellow South Africans.
