The song, 'APT' by Blackpink's Rosé and Bruno Mars has been a hit since it hit the airwaves, and many people – including kids – have fallen for it.

We're sure you'll agree that its infectious beat has universal appeal.

Like many songs, its lyrics don't quite make sense to everyone at first. But the story behind 'APT' is quite cute.

In an Instagram post, Bruno Mars revealed that Rosé taught him a Korean drinking game, which played a role in the song’s inspiration.

According to Royalty Exchange, the elusive meaning of 'APT' is finally clear: "The title is a romanized abbreviation of the Korean term '아파트' (pronounced 'apateu'), which translates to 'apartment' in English. Interestingly, 'APT' is also the name of a popular Korean drinking game often played in apartments."

Johannesburg-based dentist Dr Renata Romanini shared a funny family moment on social media, revealing how it took them a while to figure out what song her father was actually singing.

After some confusion, they finally decoded it – he was singing 'APT', but with his own version of the lyrics.

Convinced that the song said, "I f@#ked up again..." instead of "APT", he couldn’t unhear his version. And honestly, once you hear it that way, it’s hard to shake.

Surprisingly, many people related to her father – some admitted they heard the same lyrics, while others even said they preferred his version.

  • "I hear the same! And I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what they are actually saying."

  • "Your dad is not alone."

  • "I prefer his version."

  • "Can't unhear that. Totally agree."

  • "Thank goodness I wasn't the only one that heard that."

  • "That’s what I thought the words were."
