Foodie TikToker discovers she mistakenly consumed plastic
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
The downside to sharing 'how to' videos online is being scrutinised by millions.
It is anything but comforting to hear from scientific researchers that we have been consuming nanoparticles of plastic over the years.
It's a fact that we would rather choose to ignore. A reality that is so scary to acknowledge that we wish we could unlearn that information.
But what's worse than that is that sometimes, on rare occasions, there is something in our food that shouldn't be there and we are responsible for it.
Of course, we have heard of situations when people order something from a food outlet and find something that shouldn't be there.
And then you can ask for a refund or complain about it because it is someone else's fault. But what happens when you are the responsible party for the mistake?
This happened to one TikToker who posted a video sharing her sandwich making skills.
And boom, after posting the video, she received a comment from someone informing her that she in fact mistakenly added a piece of plastic from the cucumber wrapping into her sandwich.
