The natural disaster that struck Myanmar and Thailand has left many in a state of panic, with rescuers working to locate survivors.

On Friday, March 28, 2025, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit northwest of Sagaing in central Myanmar, followed by a 6.7-magnitude aftershock. The tremors were so intense that they were felt in buildings across Thailand, with several skyscrapers sustaining damage.

Amid the chaos, a New Zealand hotel manager in Bangkok went viral for his calm and reassuring speech to hotel guests, offering a moment of tranquility during the chaos.

In the video, the hotel manager addresses the guests calmly while his staff stands nearby.

With a steady and composed demeanor, he reassures everyone, explaining what to expect next.

Drawing on his personal experience as a New Zealander who has lived through similar events, his words brought comfort to many of the guests.

As the video quickly spread on social media, people eagerly shared their appreciation for his leadership.

“This is a true display of leadership,” one person commented.

“This is so reassuring, I’m gonna (sic) stay where ever he is managing,” another said.

“This made me tear up. The genuine care kindness and love this man is displaying is amazing. This is the mark of a true leader,” another added.
