Imagine having a paramedic fall on you
Updated | By Jacaranda FM/Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
This might be the worst thing to happen when you are in such a vulnerable position.

In the aftermath of trauma, we rely on doctors, specialists, and paramedics to provide expert care and safely transport patients to the appropriate healthcare facilities.
Whether by air or road, the healthcare industry depends heavily on first responders. Their role in the medical industry is invaluable.
However, a recent video, which questioned the work of paramedics, highlighted a mistake made by one while preparing a patient for transport.
Medical training immerses individuals in unpredictable, high-pressure situations to prepare them for any scenario they may encounter. The intense and demanding nature of their residencies is designed to ensure they are fully equipped to handle anything that comes their way.
When it comes to people's lives, the responsibility is immense. That's why the medical field must push professionals to be ready for every possibility.
And despite what you may think, following safety protocols is a number one priority. But so is thinking on your feet, which isn't everyone's strong suit.
A video shared by a nurse and comedian captures a moment where a paramedic, overlooking the risk of falling while stepping over a patient being placed on a stretcher, ended up tumbling onto them.
While we don't know what happened next, we can only hope the patient is okay. It's a good reminder that nothing should be taken for granted when dealing with people's lives.
